Apologies for the long silence!!

Although our current hotel is lovely, they charge an arm and a leg for internet access, and so we have had to save up our entries until now!! Hopefully we will be able to update regularly from now on, but as we will be ‘on the road’ as it were for the next couple of weeks, our updates may be a little bit sporadic (^^)>

Here is a quick update of our plans for the next couple of weeks:-

…it will be interesting to see if we actually stick to this plan though!!

  1. Plan B!
As expected our driving plan didn’t go according to the plan as above!! We ended up taking a different route to the one we had originally planned for the South Island. Instead of taking the train from Christchurch to Greymouth and driving down through Fiordland to Queenstown, we stayed on the east cost and drove from Christchurch to Queenstown, stopping at Lake Tekapo, Timaru, Oamaru, Moeraki, Dunedin, Lake Wakatipu, and Wanaka.
It was a very scenic and very beautiful drive and we still got to see the snow capped mountains and the picturesque lakes surrounding them. You definitely need a car to see New Zealand, but no matter where you go you will not be disappointed with the views and the experiences you collect along the way.
